Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS)

A multidisciplinary service providing assessment and treatment for children in Gwent from infancy up to the age of 16, or 18 if the young person is still attending school at the time of referral. A specialist autism service is provided weekly at Ty Bryn Unit, St Cadoc's site. The service also plays a significant role in the delivery of care via the Youth Offending Teams (YOTs) throughout Gwent, and provides consultation to Primary Care and non-specialist services through the Primary Mental Health Teams in Newport, Caerphilly and Torfaen.

NHS only. Referral via GP, Health Visitor, Social Worker or Educational Psychologist.
