Interventions that should not be used
The following advice is adapted from NICE Guideline CG170: Autism in under 19s: support and management [http://www.nice.org.uk/guidance/cg170]
NICE have recommended that clinicians should not use the following treatments for core features of autism:
- Exclusion diets (such as gluten- or casein-free diets).
- Neurofeedback or auditory integration training
- Omega-3 fatty acid supplements
- Hyperbaric oxygen therapy
